DatMap Platform — Refund & Cancellation Policy
Version 1.0 — Effective: June 1, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy is issued by DatMap, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("DatMap", "we", "us"), and is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service at https://datmap.ai/legal/terms. Capitalized terms have the meaning given there.
1. Subscriptions and billing cycle
Paid plans are billed in advance each month through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Each payment covers one billing cycle. Before you subscribe, the price, billing frequency, and automatic-renewal terms are disclosed at checkout, and you will receive a receipt for every charge.
2. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, online, from your account billing page (the Stripe Customer Portal, reachable via https://datmap.ai/settings/account). Cancellation is effective immediately for future renewals: no further charges will be made, your paid features remain active until the end of the current paid period, and your account then reverts to the Free tier. No phone call, email, or retention step is required to cancel — the same online mechanism you used to subscribe is always available to cancel.
3. Refunds
Except where a non-waivable law requires otherwise:
- Fees already paid for the current billing cycle are non-refundable, including if you cancel mid-cycle or stop using the Platform.
- We do not provide partial or prorated refunds for unused time, unused quota (chats, summaries, jobs), or features you did not use.
- At our sole discretion we may grant a goodwill refund or credit (for example, for a confirmed billing error or a sustained service failure on our side). Granting one is not a waiver of this policy.
To request a refund review, see Section 10.
4. Consumer cooling-off rights (EU/UK and similar jurisdictions)
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants a statutory withdrawal or "cooling-off" period (for example, 14 days in the EU and UK), those rights apply and prevail over Section 3 to the extent required. Because paid plans include digital services and metered digital content that begin immediately, at checkout we ask you to (a) request that performance begin during the withdrawal period and (b) acknowledge that, once the service has been fully performed or, for digital content, once supply has begun with your express consent, your withdrawal right is lost or reduced as the law provides. If you validly withdraw within the statutory period before full performance, we will refund the amount paid less a proportionate charge for the service supplied up to the time you informed us of your withdrawal, using the original payment method, within the legally required timeframe.
5. Plan changes
Upgrades and downgrades are handled through the Stripe Customer Portal and take effect according to Stripe's proration and scheduling for your plan; we do not separately refund the difference outside that mechanism.
6. Cost-control pause
As described in Section 6 of the Terms of Service, we may pause or limit metered features for the remainder of a billing cycle if your usage costs exceed your subscription value or you breach fair-use limits. A pause does not entitle you to a refund and does not extend your billing period.
7. Suspension or termination for cause
If we suspend or terminate your account for breach of the Terms of Service (including abuse or unlawful use), fees are non-refundable except where a non-waivable law requires otherwise.
8. Account deletion and data
You may delete your account at any time. Deletion cancels any active subscription going forward (with no refund of the current period, subject to Section 4) and removes your tenant data in accordance with our retention practices, as described in the Privacy Policy at https://datmap.ai/legal/privacy. Maps you published publicly may persist where they have been shared or embedded; contact us to request takedown.
9. Invoices, receipts, and chargebacks
Stripe issues an invoice or receipt for every charge, and you can view and download your full billing history at any time from the Customer Portal. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at contact@datmap.ai so we can investigate — most billing issues can be resolved quickly. Initiating a chargeback for a charge that was validly made under these terms may result in suspension of your account pending resolution.
10. How to reach us
Billing questions or refund requests: contact@datmap.ai. Please include the email address on your account and the approximate date of the charge. We aim to respond to billing inquiries within a few business days.
